National Youth Leadership Dialogue held

The National Youth Leadership Dialogue (NYLD) 2016 was a post-election initiative designed to establish a stakeholder-wide platform for youth, youth leaders, youth in political parties, special interest youth groups and activists to review the gains and initiate constructive post-election advocacy agenda on the issues raised in the youth manifesto vis a viz the campaign and manifesto commitments of the incoming leadership for the next 5 years. The initiative was also meant to do work towards lessening tension among the divergent youth political actors and redirect their energies towards meaningful political participation post elections. A special feature was to raise awareness and establish entry points for young people to hold the new leadership accountable to commitments made towards addressing the unique interests of young people as reflected in the Youth manifesto.

This dialogue meeting attracted over 120 participants from different parts of the country and was organized by Open Space with the support of other youth actors.
