Youth MPs sworn in

The swearing in of Members of the 10th Parliament of Uganda commenced on Monday 16th May 2016 and ran for 3 days.

The ceremony, which was presided over by the Clerk to Parliament, Mrs. Jane Lubowa Kibirige, was held at the front/South Wing of the main Parliament Building.

The Clerk to Parliament said in the proclamation that following the general election and gazetting of MPs elect, they would have to take oaths stipulated in the Constitution before taking up their duties.

A total of 426 out of 427 elected members of parliament were sworn in. The 10th Parliament will start with the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
