he national Youth Council which is an important vehicle for youth political participation is underfunded and this impacts its functionality. UPFYA proposes to continue to support the functionality and operations of NYC by advocating for the fulfillment  of the presidential pledge to increase the budget of the youth council to Ugx 5billion.

Additionally, the forum will lobby for a separate vote for the National Youth Council so as to enable it to be self-accounting as provided for by the
NYC Act and to protect its funds from lumping them up with the entire funds of the Ministry of Gender.
