Youth leaders hold a validation Conference for the youth manifesto 2016 – 2021

Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Youth Affairs (UPFYA) in conjunction with other youth actors organized a validation conference for the draft of National Youth Manifesto 2016-2021 to provide a platform for interaction, engagement and consultation towards building consensus around the final Manifesto.

The conference which attracted over 200 youth comprising of Youth councillors, Guild representatives, Student representatives, CSOs, Political party representatives among others was held from 20 th – 21 st July, 2015 at Grand Global Hotel, Makerere Kikoni. Other dignitaries who attended the conference included Youth MPs, Development Partners, the Youth minister and the Internal Affairs minister, Gen. Aronda Nyakayirima who graced the conference.

The manifesto generally concentrates on five thematic areas i.e Health, Education, Sports and creative Arts, Youth Participation in Decision Making and Employment which attracted a lot discussion from the youth leaders across the country.
The youth manifesto is to be used as a demanding tool during campaigns to ensure that the youth agenda is advanced.
