In a way to fight the unemployment challenge which is so rampant among the young people, government introduced the Youth Livelihood Program (YLP).
YLP is a revolving fund where money is given to youth in groups so as to support and build their business ventures and then pay back with low interests.
During the meeting organized by UPFYA, the youth from Teso sub region recommended that government should increase the budgetary allocation to the Youth Livelihood Program and also redesign the program so as to yield more and better results as compared to what has been realised. The Youth urged government to revise some of the guidelines of the YLP to allow for second time and individual borrowing.
