Hon Adeke Anna Ebaju Elected Chairperson Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Youth Affairs

The National Female Youth Member of Parliament, Adeke Anna Ebaju was elected the new Chairperson of Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Youth Affairs during the Annual General meeting held at Parliament, Monday 21st January 2019

The forum, was formed in 2008 with the main purpose of using collective energies of youth MPs to effectively and meaningfully represent youth issues through legislation, budget appropriations and oversight.

Adeke replaced the Western Youth Member of Parliament, Mpaka Mwine who steered the forum since the beginning of10th Parliament in June 2016. Mpaka, was then asked by members to become Deputy Chairperson of the forum.

The freshly elected Adeke noted that sports betting should be regulated to safeguard the youth irrationally susceptible to exploitation.

 “Sports betting should be regulated. We have to put betting industry within the confines to protect the interests of youth young people,” Hon Adeke Anna Ebaju.

Other forum executives elected included: Kisoro district woman MP, Rose Kabagenyi as (Treasurer),controversial Kasambya county MP, Mbwatekamwa Gafa (Publicity secretary) and Lower Madi County MP, Ismael Ogama is now the General Secretary.
